Interested in the operations of airplanes and drones? Eager to learn about safe drone flying practices, the FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107), and how to obtain your Remote Pilot Certificate? Curious about drones' campus applications and the legal aspects of flying them? Join our workshop tailored for the Kent State community, hosted by the College of Aeronautics and Engineering: “Drones: Toy, Tool, or Airplane? Coexisting with Planes.”
Topics covered include drone flight techniques, Part 107 certification guidance, drone registration procedures, and operating within a crewed environment. We believe in promoting safe drone operations for everyone's well-being.Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are all provided.

Inspired to create pathways for students to become a pilot of manned and unmanned aircraft? Ready to obtain your Remote Pilot Certificate? Join our workshop hosted by the College of Aeronautics and Engineering: “Drones: Coexisting with Planes.”
This three-day workshop is free and open to high school educators and administrators who want to educate future manned aircraft pilots and UAS operators. Topics covered include drone flight techniques, Part 107 certification guidance, drone registration procedures, and operating within a crewed environment. This workshop includes training sessions to use Kent State’s established curriculum and tools to discuss with students the educational and career pathways, and training in virtual reality (VR) curriculum in aircraft pilot and UAS operations.

Covering everything from the donation process, benefits and needs, and registration, this workshop is meant to help teachers enhance classroom learning and to prepare students to make an informed decision.

Methods in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy
Students will participate in immersive experiences in various aspects of instrumental jazz: improvisation, ensemble rehearsal techniques, history of Jazz, and composition/arranging. They will also join in a nightly jam session to experience the applicable aspects of jazz music.

Methods in Rock Band Performance and Pedagogy
Experience performing as a member of a rock band while examining the pedagogy of this type of ensemble. Workshop participants will learn techniques for coaching rock ensembles in the K-12 environment including selecting repertoires and equipment, amplifying instruments, and recording/editing performances.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn digital knitting and programming of the Stoll industrial knitting machines. They will gain a foundational understanding of stitches and how to program them on Create Plus software. Using industrial knitting machines, participants will master fundamentals like required threading set up and machine maintenance.

Registered Sanitarian/Registered Environmental Health Specialist Exam Preparation Course
This course is designed to assist those who will be taking the National Environmental Health Association Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian Credential Exam, in their studies and review of pertinent material for the exam. It has narrated review lectures, resources, and practice exam questions available as part of the course. The course includes hundreds of practice exam questions that cover all of the exam content areas.

Public Health Accreditation Board Basics
The course covers the steps that state, local and tribal health departments are required to take to prepared for and meet the PHAB accreditation standards. It is intended for PHAB coordinators and other health department staff involved in the accreditation process. In addition to explaining the prerequisites and accreditation requirements the course provides access to other PHAB resources.

FANUC Robot Training: HandlingTool Operation and Programming
This course covers the tasks that an operator, technician, engineer or programmer needs to understand to set up, record, and/or troubleshoot programs on a FANUC Robotics HandlingTool Software Package. You will learn to: power up and job the robot; Teach Frames; recover from common program and robot faults; execute production operations; create, modify, and executive a material handling program; create and execute MACROs; monitor, force, and simulate input and output signals; backup and restore individual programs and files.

UAV Training and Part 107 Testing
Receive hands-on training mixed with part 107 test prep to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) test with confidence. A seminar geared toward professionals interested in using UAVs within their industry. Participants train at Kent State University’s airport, among peers in a four-day course. Attendees receive instruction to prepare prior to attending the class to ensure success on the written exam. On day four of the course, you will take the written exam.

User Training for Cleanroom Research and Prototyping Facility
A fully online training program that is required for access to the Kent State University Cleanroom Research and Prototyping facility.
Located in the LCM building, the Cleanroom facility includes tools for device fabrication (such as liquid crystal displays) with a range of equipment including spin reactive ion etch, metal evaporation systems (DC and RF sputter, e-beam, thermal), wet chemical stations, photolithography, and surface analysis tools. Registrants will have access to the online course for two weeks.

Art Enrichment
By combining art studio activities with discussions of art as it relates to different time periods and cultures, students come to better understand the world of art. Students are organized by cross-age groupings and work with a variety of media to develop their individual art skills. Art Enrichment is a student teacher education program at Kent State University.
