30th Annual Virginia Hamilton Conference Silent Auction


Attendees at this year’s Virginia Hamilton Conference on Multicultural Literature for Youth will have the opportunity to participate in a very special silent auction featuring such remarkable treasures as:

  • Autographed books from past, present and future VHC keynotes including Joseph Bruchac, Nikki Giovanni, Pat Mora, Marilyn Nelson, Andrea Davis Pinkney, Janet Wong, Lisa Yee, Rita Williams-Garcia and, of course, Virginia Hamilton;
  • Autographed collectible posters by renowned illustrators Ashley Bryan, Jacqueline Woodson and Mike Blanc;
  • silentauction1An opportunity to name a future character in one of Alma Flor Ada’s future books;
  • A Skype visit to your school or library by Jacqueline Woodson, Yuyi Morales or Jan Spivey Gilchrist;
  • An original linoleum block print by Kristin Blackwood;

  • Two registrations to the 2015 Virginia Hamilton Conference;
  • Two registrations to the Pop It! Move It! Use It!  (May 2, 2014, pop-up book symposium at Kent State featuring Robert Sabuda);

Attendance at the conference is required to bid on the items. Proceeds will go toward the planning of future Virginia Hamilton conferences and scholarships for students to attend.
