Allerton Apartments Abatement and Demolition, Phase 2: Units A, B, C and D
Design and bid documents are being prepared by The Osborn Engineering Company for the abatement and demolition of the remaining Allerton Apartment Units A, B, C and D. Corresponding studies are being produced to show this green space being utilized as athletic fields. This project is anticipated to be advertised for bidding in late 2014. Demolition will begin late summer 2015 after leases expire. This General Contracting project is being managed via OAKS-CI.

Centennial Court ADA Improvements
This project, designed by Metropolitan Architecture Studio, details necessary ADA enhancements, including revisions to restroom layouts, in the Centennial Court residence halls. Field investigation work was completed over the summer of 2014. Bidding is anticipated for early 2015 with construction commencing during the summer of 2015. This General Contracting project is being managed via OAKS-CI.

East Campus Chilled Water Plant New Chiller and New Chiller Plate and Frame
This project, designed by Scheeser Buckley Mayfield, adds a new chiller and cooling tower to the existing East Campus Chilled Water Plant facility. As more residence halls have been upgraded to have air conditioning, the demands on the existing infrastructure have increased. This new equipment allows for system growth and redundancy while providing energy savings and peak performance. Design work is underway and the project is anticipated to be advertised for bidding during October. Construction will proceed in phases so as to not interrupt any chilled water service to the residence halls. This General Contracting project is being managed via OAKS-CI.

Engleman Hall ADA Improvements
This project, designed by Metropolitan Architecture Studio, details necessary ADA enhancements, including revisions to restroom layouts, in Engleman Hall. Geauga Classroom Building HVAC Replacements, Multiple Phases
In 2010, Kent State University at Geauga commissioned a study to evaluate the Classroom Building's heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to determine and recommend which HVAC equipment and systems are most in need of replacement and to recommend a system type for replacement. Karpinski Engineering, Inc. designed the multiple phases of this project. Future phases will complete the HVAC replacements over several projects during the course of several years. Pending the approval and release of state funding, design of the final Phase 4 should commence in the fall. Phase 4 work is anticipated to be bid by the end of the year in order for construction to commence during the spring of 2015. This General Contracting project is being managed via OAKS-CI.

Korb Hall Elevator Modernization
This project, designed by Van Auken Akins Architects, details the modernization of Korb Hall’s elevator. This project will utilize the existing hoistway while making improvements to the elevator machinery and adding necessary fire prevention features. Design work recently commenced and this project is anticipated to be advertised for bidding during December. Construction will take place over the summer of 2015. This General Contracting project is being managed via OAKS-CI.

Tuscarawas University Hall and Attention Center Demolition
Kent State University at Tuscarawas’ University Hall and the Attention Center will be abated and then demolished. Asbestos abatement analyses were conducted and construction documents are being prepared for the abatement and demolition of both buildings. This General Contracting project is being managed via OAKS-CI.
