2014

Addy AwardsFashion Show Book

Kent State won two Gold ADDYs at the 2014 Akron ADDY Awards hosted by the American Advertising Federation-Akron (AAF-Akron). The AAF-Akron is the local chapter for the national AAF Trade Association. The association recognizes incredible creativity, writing, design and project management in all forms of advertising across various types of mediums.

The ADDYs were awarded to University Communications and Marketing for the Fashion School's show book and Web application in the categories of Advertising for the Arts and Sciences and Digital Advertising.

2013

Golden SABRE Award

Kent State University earned a Gold SABRE Award for its “Experience for Life” television campaign at the America's 2013 SABRE Awards that took place on May 7 in New York City. The SABRE Awards is the world’s largest and most sought after public relations awards competition that recognizes superior achievement in branding and reputation. More than 800 public relations and marketing industry leaders attended the awards gala.

Kent State won the award for excellence in the Corporate Reputation/Institutional Image category, edging out four other nominees — Time Warner, Harvard Business School, the Bayer Group, and Kongsberg. The university shares the award with its agency of record Fahlgren Mortine in Columbus, Ohio, that helped to produce the “Experience for Life” television commercials.

PIANKO Print Excellence Awards

Kent State University designed pieces won two Print Excellence awards from the Printing Industries of North Kentucky and Ohio.

Communicator Awards

NEWSexperienceFORlifeKent State University won six Communicator Awards from the International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA).

  1. Gold Awards - Kent State’s “Experience for Life” television commercials and three print advertisements.
  2. Silver Awards - “Experience for Life” single-page advertisement, the Kent State University interactive website, the “Destination Kent State” direct mail campaign and the Center for Corporate and Professional Development Marketing materials.

Educational Advertising Awards

Six Educational Advertising Awards from the Higher Education Marketing Report. This is the largest educational advertising competition in the country.

  1. Silver Award - Newspaper Advertising - “I Can Do That” for the College of Public Health.
  2. Bronze Awards - “Experience for Life” advertising series and for the total public relations programs to Celebrate Centennial: Kent State In Its 100th Year.
  3. Three Merit Awards - Kent State’s Season of Celebration Card, the university’s redesigned website and the single spot television ad for “Experience for Life.”

2010

PR News Nonprofit Awards

The Nonprofit PR Awards are presented by the national industry publication PR News and are judged by communications experts based on creativity, innovation, sound planning implementation and successful results.

  1. Event PR category – Winner
