Kent State is committed to providing you with the same quality experience as our residential students with a variety of programs and activities. There are many resources on campus and online specifically for commuters, find out how you can stay connected to the Kent State community while living off-campus.
- Commuter and Off-Campus Student Organization
COSO sponsors numerous activities as well as represents commuter and off-campus students on various university committees.
- The "Fab Fourth" and Commuter Lounge
The fourth floor of the University Library has been renovated into a space for students to study, relax and connect with others. It also features the Writing Commons, the university’s writing center, and UCommute, a center for commuter students that provides a "home away from home." UCommute offers staffing and a special location for commuter and off-campus students. It is open anytime the library is open.
- Parking Services
Parking Services is responsible for providing well-maintained parking lots, regulated parking areas, special event parking and on-campus assistance to stranded motorists. Parking Services also manages parking permits for Kent State faculty, staff, and students.
The Portage Area Regional Transit Authority is a bus service serving the Kent State University campus and the surrounding community. PARTA provides three on-campus routes: the Campus Loop, Allerton, and Stadium/Front Campus. These routes are open to all students and visitors of the university.
