Next Open Interview Session: Sept. 19, 2014 at 5 p.m.

The Department of Recreational Services offers open interview sessions periodically throughout the semester for current Kent State students interested in working at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Ice Arena, Allerton Sports Complex or Crooked River Adventures.

During these sessions, prospective employees should bring with them their resume, cover letter and application. Candidates should bring multiple copies of their resume if they wish to apply to multiple departments. Candidates should also come dressed in interview attire. They will receive a brief introduction about the department and a better understanding of each area that is hiring, which could include:

  • Adventure Center-- fully staffed
  • Allerton Sports Complex-- fully staffed
  • Aquatics-- fully staffed
  • Crooked River Adventures-- fully staffed
  • Flashfleet-- fully staffed
  • Grounds-- fully staffed
  • Guest Services-- fully staffed
  • Ice Arena-- Guest Services Representative, Counter Worker/Ice Aide, DJ
  • Intramurals-- fully staffed
  • Marketing-- fully staffed
  • PEAK Summer Camp-- fully staffed
  • Technology-- fully staffed

Following the department introduction, candidates will sign-up for 10-minute interviews with the area(s) of their choice. Pending the success of the interview, candidates may then be invited back for a final interview at a mutually agreed upon date and time.

All Open interview sessions are held at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and begin promptly at 5 p.m.

Graduate Assistantships, Practicums and Internships

The Department of Recreational Services provides quality educational experiences to students majoring in sports administration, leisure studies, marketing or other similar degree programs.
