PhD in Public Health, Prevention Science at Kent State University

Complete applications are due February 1 for fall semester and July 1 for spring semester

The PhD in Public Health specializing in Prevention Science prepares students for careers in public health research, which demands interdisciplinary skills to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing field.  Doctoral students in the Prevention Science specialization learn to design, implement and evaluate public health interventions that focus on promoting healthy behaviors.

Faculty research focuses on the Leading Health Indicators and provides students the opportunity to work on externally funded prevention research projects.

Students who graduate with the PhD in Public Health with the interdisciplinary prevention science specialization are scholars and leaders in a variety of job settings, including:
