Dr. Rick Robyn named “Outstanding Ohio Teacher” by Ohio Magazine

Posted Feb. 1, 2012
Dr. Rick Robyn, director of the Washington Program in National Issues (WPNI), figures prominently in an article entitled “The Learning Experience” in a recent edition of Ohio Magazine.  He was cited as one of the “outstanding Ohio teachers (who) are committed to engaging their students in the education process.”

Dr. Robyn also won the Outstanding Teaching Award for 2010-11, sponsored by the University Teaching Council. This award, sponsored by the University Teaching Council, goes annually to KSU’s most talented and respected non-tenure-track (NTT) instructors. Rick, the long-time director of our Washington Program in National Issues (WPNI), was clearly overdue for this award. Not only did his nomination spark dozens of endorsements from WPNI alumni, many students from his Kent classes let the Teaching Council know how Rick inspired them and shaped their futures. This outpouring from students attests to Rick’s commitment to students, hard work, and boundless excitement about all things Washington (particularly Thomas Paine!). Way to go Rick!
