ADVISORY: Kent State University Board of Trustees Special Session, Aug. 11Posted Aug. 10, 2011
The Kent State University Board of Trustees will meet in special session on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 11:45 a.m. at the Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Road, on The Ohio State University campus. Trustees will be in Columbus to attend the 2011 Statewide Trustees Conference sponsored by Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor James Petro.
The sole purpose of the special meeting will be to approve the exchange of land parcels, approximating one-half acre, with the city of Kent. The university property, located along the west side of Depeyster Street and spanning 0.4944 acres, is integral to the private development component of the downtown project. In exchange, Kent State will receive 0.6117 acres of property that will be used for the extension of the Kent State University Esplanade. Under the proposal, the properties will be exchanged at face value and no additional cost to the university or the city.
