2014 Student Great Idea Contest

For the third consecutive year, Kent State University at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia is holding a Student Great Idea Contest to encourage young entrepreneurship.  The contest is designed for Tuscarawas County students in middle school, high school and college who have an idea, invention or innovation they would like to sell, turn into a business or develop into a prototype.

There is no cost to enter the contest. Winners will receive cash prizes and will be eligible to shadow an area entrepreneur for a day. All contestants will be eligible to attend entrepreneurship workshops at Kent State Tuscarawas during Fall Semester 2014.

The contest entry deadline is March 14, with winners being notified in April. Student Great Idea Contest applications are available online at

Co-sponsors for the Student Great Idea Contest are Provia, Frontier Communications, Pissocra-Mathias Realty, Sopher Insurance Agency, Harris Battery, R&J Cylinder & Machine, American Highway Products, Bread Head Bakery LLC and Ohio Billing.
