MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Fashion Design Icon Dana Buchman Visits Kent State to Critique Students’ WorkPosted Dec, 8, 2009
On Thursday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Kent State University Jerry Silverman and Shannon Rodgers School of Fashion’s students will receive fashion design feedback of a lifetime. Dana Buchman, fashion designer and industry icon, will serve as the design critic of 17 fashion design students’ senior projects. The Senior Design Critiques will take place in the Atrium of Rockwell Hall on the campus of Kent State University.
The School of Fashion is one of only 13 member Schools in the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Buchman, also a member of the CFDA, was recommended to Kent State as an industry professional interested in critiquing the work of senior fashion design students. Each of the students will get about 15 minutes of Buchman’s time. Each student will display four to five outfits sewn in muslin, a test fabric, on a combination of dress forms and models.
Dana Buchman, up until spring 2009, was an independent upscale women's fashion brand, and its founder, Dana Buchman, an American fashion designer and creative designer of the same name. Dana Buchman now sells exclusively at Kohl’s Department Stores across the country.
Thursday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Interviews with Dana Buchman are available following the critiques at about 4 p.m. To schedule an interview, contact one of the media contacts listed below.
