Lieutenant Hendry is a 22 year veteran of the Kent State Police Department and Graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. He is also a graduate from the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) and Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE).  He served honorably on Active and Reserve duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1985-1991 and is a certified instructor in ASP Baton, Tactical Chemical Weapons, Preventing and Responding to Suicide Bombing Incidents, Active Shooter Response and ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate). Response Options, the company that owns the ALICE concept, has hired him as an Adjunct Instructor, one of only 8 in the Country.  He has served as a Field Training Officer, SWAT Team member and currently serves as a Terrorism Liaison Officer with the Ohio Department of Homeland Security.  He was a Presenter at the Crisis Intervention Team International Conference in Virginia Beach in 2011 and was a Guest Presenter the past two years at the Law Enforcement State Homeland Security Program Region 5 Planning Retreats. He has also received approval from the Ohio Department of Homeland Security and General Motors to assist them in planning for Crisis Events. In April of 2012 he was named to an Ohio State Law Enforcement Committee to assist the State in exploring Single Responder to Active Shooter Training for Law Enforcement Officers in Ohio.

  Lieutenant Hendry has been married to a beautiful woman for 18 years and has 3 children.
