Kent Keyboard Series Presents Peter Miyamoto in Ludwig Recital HallPosted Oct. 31, 2012
The Kent Keyboard Series begins its 2012-2013 season with a performance by Peter Miyamoto on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. in Ludwig Recital Hall. Ludwig Recital Hall is located in the Music and Speech Center at 1325 Theatre Drive on the Kent Campus.
"Peter offers a brilliant program of some of the most popular pieces in classical music," associate professor of music Donna Lee said. "'Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D minor' by JS Bach; Sonata, 'Op. 81a Les Adieux' by Ludwig van Beethoven; 'Ballade No. 1' by Frederic Chopin; 'Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel' by Johannes Brahms."
Peter Miyamoto has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Chautauqua Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Florida Philharmonic, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Knoxville Symphony. He has also released two solo CDs, "The Chopin Ballades and Fantasies" and "A Schubert Recital."
Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and KSU faculty and staff; $8 students with valid ID; and, free for full-time undergraduate Kent State University students.

The performing arts box office is open weekdays from noon until 5 p.m. and it is located in the lobby of the Roe Green Center in the Music and Speech Center at 1325 Theatre Drive. The box office accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover, in addition to cash and checks. Tickets are also available day-of-show at the door.
