Students planning a major in Performance (vocal or instrumental) and Conducting will be expected to demonstrate ability on the level of the Bachelor of Music in Performance senior recital.

For students residing at an inconvenient distance from Kent, an audition tape may be sent to the Coordinator of Graduate Studies in the School of Music. It should contain up to thirty minutes of material covering a variety of performance styles (and language for vocalists). A list of repertoire studied in the past year should accompany the tape or be brought to the audition. Students desiring a return of the audition tape should enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
While it is not required for admission, students applying to the Master of Arts and doctoral programs, who are planning to study applied music, must audition.
