Entrepreneur Experience Student Competition WinnersPosted Apr. 13, 2011
The College and University Student Entrepreneurs Competition was held on April 6 at The University Center, as part of the 2011 Stark County Entrepreneur Experience, presented by the Small Business Development Center, Kent State University at Stark (SBDC).
Students from four Stark County colleges and universities competed by presenting business plans for the creation of local jobs for graduating college and university students. Scholarships, for their respective academic institutions, of $2,000, $1,500, $1,000 and $500 were awarded to each student presenter, based on their presentation rating from the judges. The scholarships were made possible through a grant from the Stark Community Foundation.
The winners of the Entrepreneur Experience student competition are as follows:
- The first place award of $2,000 was earned by Malone University student Anthony McCartney.
- The second place award of $1,500 was earned by Kent State University at Stark students Tracy Fichter, Chelsea Henderson, David Jones, Natasha McGraw and Matt Spenser.
- The third place award of $1,000 was earned by Stark State College students Barbara Biggums, Michael Chiappini, Jeff Cunningham, Lisa Hull and Debbie Spaulding.
- The fourth place award of $500 was earned by Walsh University students Adam Harris and Michael Thomas.
The 2011 Stark County Entrepreneur Experience features several events to educate and provide networking opportunities for entrepreneurs at all levels.
