JMC Announces 2014-2015 Scholarship Recipients

Fifty-five undergraduate and graduate students are recipients of more than $65,000 in scholarships and financial awards for the 2014-2015 academic year. Both the number of recipients and the amount of scholarship dollars set new records for the School.

These totals do not including the 11 incoming freshmen who are recipients of JMC’s new Promising Scholar Awards and the Carol Costello Scholarship – financial awards designated solely for first-time freshmen.

The 2014-2015 JMC scholarship winners are:

  • The Ronald Dean Clark Scholarship in Editorial Writing:  Jacqueline DeMate and Melissa Puppo        
  • The Walton D. Clarke Scholarship: Daniel Vasu and Mengting (Molly) Ying
  • The Cleveland Press Club Scholarship: Lyndsey Schley and Jenna Watson
  • The Ralph C. Darrow Scholarship:  Cindy Deng
  • The Robert C. and Helen Westcott Dix Scholarship:  Alicia Balog and Matthew Merchant
  • The Roger and Ada Fidler Scholarship:  Alexandra Valverde
  • The William A. Fisher Scholarship:  Kristine Graves and Carolyn Pippin
  • The Albert E. Fitzpatrick Scholarship: Sabrina Scott
  • The Lloyd W. Hanson and Harvey E. Rahn Scholarship:  Emily Crilley

  • The Robert K. Shaul Advertising Scholarship:  Andrew Rolinc

  • The William Taylor Scholarship:  Paige Katrinchak and Abby Prulhiere
  • The Loris C. Troyer Scholarship:  Julia Adkins and Amanda Crumm

Two JMC students also won the Jeffrey D. Fruit book award:  Samantha Ickes and Hanna Moore.
