JMC Alumnus Reports from Cannes Film FestivalPosted May. 22, 2014
Shannon Lanier, ’03, hit the red carpet of Cannes, France, this month to cover one of the most important and well-publicized film festivals in the world.
Lanier, who earned a master’s degree in media production and media management at JMC, is reporting for “Arise Entertainment 360,” the global TV show he co-hosts. Currently seen on www.YouTube.com/AriseENT360 and www.Arise.tv, the show will air on BET/Centric this fall.
The Cannes International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious showcases for European and independent films and is known for attracting international film stars and producers who are promoting new releases to film distributors.
In addition to broadcasting live from the French Riviera and the Cannes red carpet, Lanier has been able to interview film and TV actors, including Jay Ellis from BET’s hit show, “The Game,” which follows the lives of professional football players, Gary Dourdan from the movie “Jumping the Broom” and the cast from the Australian film “These Final Hours.”
