About JMC Internships

Professional internships play an irreplaceable role in the education of each student in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. You've entered a significant phase of your education at JMC. You have taken the prerequisite courses and achieved the minimum 2.75 GPA. Now, you are ready to start interning. Congratulations!

JMC fully believes - and hundreds of students before you will affirm it - that a "professionally supervised internship in your chosen field of study" is essential to your academic and professional development. Hence, a 300-hour internship is a graduation requirement. While only one internship is required, we encourage JMC students to accomplish as many internships as practicable.

This website opens the door to successful internship opportunities through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. It includes a database with the following:

  • Local area, regional and national internships
  • Pertinent information unique to each sequence
  • Online application
  • Internship report filing

If you are a potential employer, please submit your internship opportunity on our employer form.
