Directory Services Integration is provided for departmental and enterprise applications that require authentication or identity information from the university's enterprise directories. Integration via Active Directory and LDAP are available.
Secure access via Secure LDAP is available for applications on departmental servers and external third-party services.

How to request this service
Please call 330-672-HELP (4357) or submit a Support Ticket at support.kent.edu. Please include the following required information:
The application name, any vendor information about the application’s integration with Active Directory or OpenLDAP (LDAP), the type of access requested (read-only or read/write), and the type of integration requested (e.g. User lookup, authentication, etc).
NOTE: In order to maintain the security of identity information, services can only be provided as read-only for authentication and departmental and off-campus servers must use Secure LDAP (LDAPS). No write access or unsecure LDAP access is available.
NOTE: This service is provided in order to support official university functions. It may be requested by any person responsible for implementing or maintaining a service in support of university business.
Service delivery process
Expected response time for acknowledgement:
Request will be acknowledged within three business days.
A representative from IS Server Support will contact requestor for additional technical information.
Expected response time for fulfillment:
The time to fulfill requests will vary depending on complexity of integration requirements, if the request can be fulfilled in the manner it was submitted.
Service delivery hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Excluding university breaks
Application integration support of applications or services will not be provided after hours (whereas support of the Directory Service is 24/7). If the Directory Service is not functioning properly and this is the cause of service disruption, please open a Technology Helpdesk ticket, and notification will be sent when the service is operational.
