Exciting new changes are in store for the Tri-Towers residence hall facility, which includes Wright Hall, Koonce Hall, and Leebrick Hall. Planned renovations will include several mechanical upgrades, cosmetic changes, and the addition of two large communal lounge spaces overlooking the campus from the tenth floor.
Tri-Towers will be receiving a new heating/cooling system allowing for better temperature control during those unpredictable Ohio weather months. At project’s end, each building will also have two new elevators, as well as new hallway carpeting. Each student room will receive new furniture, flooring, and painting, as well as new windows.
Renovations will not only be taking place INSIDE the building, but each building’s exterior appearance will begin changing as well. In addition to repairs on the outside brick surface, each building will receive outside panels that will update the look of the entire facility.
In Koonce and Wright Hall, the project will also include the addition of a sky lounge on the tenth floors. These new sky lounges will provide fantastic panoramic views, and also a space for students to meet, socialize, and build community with their fellow residents.
Students and visitors in Tri-Towers can already begin to see the initial stages of these renovations as several changes, both mechanical and cosmetic, were completed during the recent summer.
During the summer of 2012, new elevator installation began with Koonce Hall and Leebrick Hall with each receiving one of two elevator replacements. Wright Hall received both elevator replacements in 2012. Directional signage, wall graphics, and added wall colors were installed to assist residents and guests make their way throughout the buildings more easily. A new sidewalk and outdoor stairway was also installed near Leebrick Hall to allow easier pedestrian access to the building from the loading dock area.
Construction at Wright Hall will commence in Spring 2013 as soon as weather permits, and will conclude at the close of the summer. Koonce Hall and Leebrick Hall construction will begin in the spring of 2014 and continue until the end of summer. It’s an exciting time and we hope you are looking forward to enjoying the fresh, new Tri-Towers facility very soon!
