Graduate Professional Development WorkshopsPosted Feb. 8, 2012
The Division of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce new professional development workshops for graduate students. The Graduate Professional Development workshops are open to KSU graduate students of all disciplines, and are interdisciplinary in nature. The workshops are designed to supplement material that was presented during Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) or program-specific orientations, both of which represent the first step to one's professional development experience as a graduate student at Kent State.
The Graduate Professional Development workshops are a collaborative initiative between the Division of Graduate Studies and other campus units including University Libraries, Research and Sponsored Programs, and the Career Services Center. Building on information that is presented at GSO by the teaching fellows, graduate professional development workshops are offered on such topics as technology tools, searching for grant funding, conference planning, and writing for publication. Topics such as writing a literature review, developing a resume/CV, and negotiating a job/salary offer will be facilitated by KSU faculty and professional staff.
The Graduate Professional Development workshops are free to KSU graduate students. Light refreshments will be provided at each of the 1 hour workshops. Pre-registration for the workshops is preferred. For questions about the Graduate Professional Development workshops, please contact Dr. Kate McAnulty at firstname.lastname@example.org or 330.672.2180.
