The department offers two graduate programs, the Master of Science in Geology and the Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Geology. Each year, the 12 full-time faculty members support about 30 graduate students who pursue a broad range of research interests in Ohio or at field sites throughout the world. Approximately half of the faculty focus on Paleontology, Sedimentation, and Tectonics. The department's other major focus involves the study of Hydrology, Geochemistry, and Engineering Geology.
