Kent State Government Relations
The mission of the Office of Government Relations at the Kent State University is to support the university and advance its strategic plan by forging and maintaining valuable relationships between the university and governments and public agencies at all levels. The Office of Government Relations realizes this mission through promotion, representation, and advocacy of the university’s strengths, assets, needs, and interests with local, state and federal elected and appointed officials in the City of Kent, throughout the region, at the State Capitol, and in Washington, D.C.
Accordingly, the Office of Government Relations has offices in Kent, Columbus, and Washington, D.C., and works closely with the president, provost, vice presidents, and other university officials to develop a thorough monitoring and evaluation system for higher education issues and policy. The Office of State Relations and the Office of Federal Relations foster close relationships with government, non-profit, and private entities.
