Lunch and Learn Seminars Focus on Healthy Living and Eating

Posted March 12, 2012

The next few monthly Lunch and Learn seminars will focus on eating better and putting more activity into your life. The seminars are sponsored by the Division of Human Resources and are part of the university’s wellness program.

The programs are held from noon-1 p.m. in Room 318 of the Kent Student Center. Each program is free and open to faculty and staff. A complimentary lunch is provided and seating is limited to 20.

In observance of National Nutrition month, Eating Smart, Eating Clean will be the topic of the March 26 seminar. A large part of weight loss and healthy living is the knowledge of basic nutrition. You will learn what to eat and how to eat clean, how to successfully navigate through labels, serving sizes, eating out, organic diets and the basics of eating smart.

The presenter will be Victor Geremia, a licensed certified strength and conditioning specialist, and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has worked with professional and collegiate athletes to prepare them for competition, and is currently the head fitness professional and director of nutritional development and programming at Health 360 in Mayfield Village.

You can register for the March seminar at www.kent.edu/hr/benefits/onewellu.cfm. Continuing education credits are available upon request.

Other upcoming seminars include “Getting Active; Exercise 101” on April 11, and “Healthy Living for Busy Lives” on May 17. The Lunch and Learn seminars are held in conjunction with Impact, which is the university’s employee assistance program.
