Department of Public Safety Announces Annual Employees of the YearPosted Oct. 10, 2011 | Kasey Fahey
The Department of Public Safety recently selected its annual Employees of the Year for the 2010-2011 academic year. One commissioned and one noncommissioned employee are awarded for their exemplary service, response to community needs and high ethical standards.
Police Lieutenant Chris Jenkins was selected as the commissioned employee and Police Dispatcher Stephanie Bartos was chosen as the noncommissioned employee.
Jenkins and Bartos were selected by the department and their peers for their dedicated performances as members of Kent State Police Services and the community. They were recently honored at the annual department meeting in August. They both received a certificate and a gift card.
“It was a complete surprise and a humbling experience,” says Bartos. “I am thankful for my wonderful coworkers who thought of me for this award.” “We have tremendous people that work for Police Services, as well as all of our university and community partners,” Jenkins says. “I feel privileged to work and smile with them daily and the award for me is truly a recognition of their efforts.”
Jenkins has been with the university for 16 years. Bartos has worked for the department since May 2010.
The Department of Public Safety has honored outstanding employees with Employee of the Year awards since 1993. The recipients’ photograph and engraved plaques are on display in the lobby of the Stockdale Building.
