Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster will take the stage at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas on Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. This holiday concert is co-sponsored by the Tuscarawas County Bar Association.

MacMaster is one of the most versatile and exciting young musicians on both the Folk and Celtic music scenes. Her live performances are a testament to her incandescent musicianship and boundless energy, featuring foot-tapping rave-ups, heart-rending ballads and world-class step dancing. Her numerous awards include several Canadian Artist of the Year awards from the East Coast Music Association, two Juno awards for best instrumental album and Fiddler of the Year from the Canadian Country Music Association. MacMaster’s many projects have seen her collaborate and perform with Alison Krauss, the Chieftains, Paul Simon and Pavarotti.

The concert will include a performance by the Greater Tuscarawas Children’s Chorus, an auditioned chorus of children with treble voices in grades three through eight. The Greater Tuscarawas Children’s Chorus was started by Denise Mathias, Mark Mathias and Carolyn Wallace in 2009. The chorus is directed by Monica Davy, with Carolyn Wallace as accompanist and president of the board. The chorus performs two regular concerts during its program year, and will be performing during the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Yuletide concert. The chorus members, who are all from Tuscarawas County, include Abigail Adams, Emilee Basnett, Eryn Basnett, Ashley Beans, Kaeley Beans, Jacob Cannon, Taleigha Eichel, Casey France, Makayla Miller, MaKenzie Miller, Sarah Smith, Gian Steele, Kenadi Sours, Isaac Vogel and Mary Vogel.

Tickets range in price from $36- $52. Purchase tickets in person at the Performing Arts Center box office, online at www.tusc.kent.edu/pac or by calling 330-308-6400. The box office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Dr. NE, New Philadelphia.
