NSF Awards Kent State $1.08 Million Grant to Address Shortage of STEM Educators
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Kent State University a $1.08 million grant to support the university’s Noyce Scholars Program, designed to increase the number of highly qualified middle and high school teachers in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, mathematics and physics.

The deadline for submissions to participate in the 2012 Institute for Excellence has been extended to Wednesday, Nov. 30. The 10-month, university leadership program gives eligible faculty and staff a unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills. There are two tracks: The Administrator, for faculty or staff who manage or chair a department or unit; and the Individual Contributor, for employees not currently in a managerial role, but who have the desire to lead change.
