HR Welcomes Wellness CoordinatorPosted Feb. 13, 2012
The Division of Human Resources wants faculty and staff to be aware of the importance of wellness and the impact it can have on your mental and physical health, as well as workplace productivity.
That will be the job for Rachael Decker, who recently joined the HR staff as the university’s wellness coordinator. Her primary responsibility will be to develop and introduce a comprehensive wellness program to the university community.
Decker is no stranger to Kent State. Since 2010, she has been the wellness coordinator for Recreational Services, responsible for the daily operation of the group exercise program at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Prior to that, she was a fitness and wellness graduate supervisor for Recreation Services at Cleveland State University, and a fitness specialist for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Decker has a Bachelor of Education degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in community health education from Cleveland State University. Her office will be located in Wright Hall with the rest of the Kent State Benefits team.
Look for information soon on upcoming wellness programs and an employee wellness survey.
