Kent State Alumni Association Presents Faculty Lecture SeriesPosted Sept. 16, 2013
Faculty, staff and alumni are invited to attend the Faculty Lecture Series, a new program sponsored by the Kent State University Alumni Association. For individuals interested in returning to the classroom – without the worry of exams –the series offers a chance to hear from faculty experts.
The first lecture occurs on Homecoming day, Oct. 5, at 12:30 p.m. in Taylor Hall and focuses on the topic of Kent State and May 4. The lecture will be given by Laura Davis, retired professor of English and director of the May 4 Visitor Center, and Carole Barbato, professor emeritus.
The second lecture, presented by Stefanie Moore, assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, examines social media and how it applies to our professional and personal worlds. The lecture will be held on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. in the Williamson Alumni Center.
The third lecture in the series examines culture’s history and society’s fascination with vampires. Mark Dawidziak, instructor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, will give the lecture on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Williamson Alumni Center.
All lectures are complimentary, and light refreshments will be provided to attendees. Space is limited, and individuals interested in attending must register in advance at www.ksualumni.org by Sept. 27 for the first lecture.
