The Office of Diversity Outreach and Development works closely with some of our community partners and local school districts to create pipelines into higher education, more specifically Kent State and the programs within EHHS. A few of our partnerships are below:

Kent State - Maple Heights Collaborative Project: In collaboration with Maple Heights School District, Dr's. Walter Gershon and Susan Iverson and our office, we are working to expose the high school students interested in education and the health sciences to Kent State University, the ideals surrounding diversity and encouraging them to engage in healthy debate.

Healthcare In Progress (HIP): Collaboration with Akron Public Schools, local hospitals, University of Akron, NEOMED, and our office to help expose students to different health related careers.

Summer Education Explorers with Upward Bound: In collaboration with KSU's Upward Bound program's summer academy, students interested in teaching will be registered for the Education in a Democratic Society course while exploring teaching outside the classroom through interactive activities, discussions and shadowing opportunities.
