FLA PROGRAMS

  • The field of cultural foundations of education conceptualizes education as a broad and complex undertaking that is best understood through a range of disciplines and fields of study.

  • The Educational Studies program is a non-licensure option which is designed for individuals who wish to function as educators in human services and resource settings such as business and industry, religious, community, or interest and advocacy groups.

  • The online Ed.D. program in Interprofessional Leadership promotes the study of leadership from a perspective that is collaborative across organizational boundaries and framed around questions of equity, ethics, and social justice. Students address their inquiry to complex problems of practice. The program prepares leaders who can construct and apply knowledge to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals, families, organizations, and communities.

  • The Higher Education Administration (HIED) program prepares students for careers as highly affective higher education administrators and staff professionals. The coursework prepares students for the varied challenges facing two-year, four-year, and graduate institutions today and in the future.

  • The Hospitality and Event Management program is the only four-year program in Ohio accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration. The curriculum combines specialty classes in hospitality and business management, preparing graduates for well-compensated positions as managers in restaurants, hotels, conference centers, country clubs and other hospitality venues.

  • The Recreation, Park and Tourism Management program prepares students for successful careers in a variety of leisure service settings. Graduates of the program find work opportunities at resorts, recreation centers, youth programs, parks and recreation departments, state and national parks, and in a wide variety of other fields.

  • The Research, Measurement & Statistics Program has been designed to introduce students to theories, skills, and applications in the fields of research methodology, statistical analyses, program evaluation, assessment, and measurement/psychometrics.

  • The Sport Administration Program prepares students for careers in the sport industry through a balanced academic program and numerous practical experiences. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in sport program management, facility management, event planning, and sports marketing and public relations.
