More information about the Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate Program

Program Description:

The Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate (BISC) Program is a highly specialized sequence comprised of five-courses and one practicum that imbues the theoretical orientation and practical application of applied behavior analysis.  The science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) attempts to understand, describe, and predict behavioral processes so that improvement to individual and social conditions can occur.  The goal of ABA is to produce socially significant improvements in human behavior through skill acquisition and the reduction of problematic behavior.  The evidence-based technology of ABA is well established with applications in the areas of schools and developmental disabilities. Concerns in children and youth, parenting, and individual behavioral changes are specific areas of focus.
