Akron Internatioanl Friendship

Akron International Friendship strengthens academic, corporate, organizational and personal links between Northeast Ohio and the World.  AIF and CIIE have collaborated on many education based international projects, and support each other in project development.

Asia Society

Asia Society is the leading educational organization dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships in a global context.  Kent State University faculty have served as national webinar leaders on the topics of internationalization of teacher education.

Comparative and International Education Society

The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) was established in 1956 to promote cross-cultural understanding, scholarship, academic achievement and societal development through the international study of educational ideas, systems, and practices. The Society's members include more than 2000 academics, practitioners, and students from around the world. Gerald H. Read was one of the founders of CIES.

Cleveland Council of World Affairs
Founded in 1923 to promote world peace, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) is Northeast Ohio’s most prominent organization that provides the public with greater understanding and personal engagement in international relations and global issues.  CIIE has served on the education committee and has been a collaborative partner on many NE Ohio internationalization initiatives in education.

Global Cleveland

Global Cleveland is a non-profit organization focused on regional economic development through actively attracting newcomers (defined as foreign-born and native-born individuals) and welcoming and connecting them economically and socially to the many opportunities throughout Greater Cleveland.  CIIE works with Global Cleveland in areas of immigrants.

Hershey Foundation

The Hershey Foundation is dedicated to providing Noetheast Ohio children from all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with special opportunities for personal growth and development.  This foundation is supporting the Curriculum in a Cupboard project (TM)

International Baccalaureate Organization

International Baccalaureate Organization The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation, motivated by its mission, focused on the student. Their three programs for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. Founded in 1968, and currently working with 3,301 schools in 141 countries to develop and offer three challenging programs to over 968,000 students aged 3 to 19 years. This organization offers graduate credit of IB sponsored workshops worldwide at Kent State University. Kent State's Early Childhood Program is fully authorized as a PYP (Primary Years Program) at the graduate and undergraduate level.  For more information see link with KSU's Professional Development Office

International Institute of Akron

TheInternational Institute of Akron (IIA) is a leader in the ever-expanding international community in Summit County, Ohio.  A nonprofit agency founded in 1916, each year, IIA provides services to voer 10,000 immigrants in Northeast Ohio and resettles over 500 refugees.  IIA has provided service learning opportunities for KSU students and scholars.

Institute of International Education is an independent not-for-profit funded in 1919. IIE is among the world's largest and most experienced international educational and training organization.  Kent State University serves as a project collaborator, and KSU faculty serve as consultants the education division.

IREX

IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally. Kent State University has awarded grants every year since 2006 and hosted secondary educators from all over the world though the International Leaders in Education program (ILEP).

Kent State Koleji

Kent State Koleji is our partner school in Istanbul, Turkey. It is affiliated with Kent State University and Avrupa Education Foundation and provides a Kindergarten program and primary school education to children in Turkey. This partnership established nearly a decade ago, provides rich intercultural and international experiences for faculty and graduate students annually.

Long view Foundation

Founded by William L. Breese, theLongview Foundation for World Affairs and International understanding has been helping young people in the United States learn about regions and global issues since 1966.  Kent State University served as the primary investigator for developing a state wide model for internationalization of teacher education.

Martha Holden Jennings Foundation

As a long supporter of international education in the state of Ohio,Martha Holden Jennings Foundation and CIIE have worked together in supportive landmark initiatives such as the Ohio Global Teacher Institute, the Ohio Ontario Symposium on Education and efforts to internationalize Career and Technical education in Ohio.

NAFSA - Association of International Educators

NAFSA is a leading professional association dedicated to international education.  Kent State University faculty have presented led special pre-conference teacher education workshops, as well as presented at the annual conference.

National Teacher of the Year

Kent State University annually hosts the National Teacher of the Year. The National Teacher of the Year Program, sponsored by ING, is a project of the Council of Chief State School officers. The National Teacher of the Year is chosen from among the State Teachers of the Year, and continues as the oldest, most prestigious national honors program that focuses public attention on excellence in teaching.

 Pulitzer Center

The Pulitzer Center promotes in-depth engagement with global affairs through its sponsorship of quality international journalism across all media platforms and an innovative program of outreach and education.  In collaboration with Kent State's College of Communication, CIIE invites Pulitzer Center reporters as guest speakers and promotes the Pulitzer Center outreach to k-12 educators in Ohio.

World Council of Comparative Education Societies

World Council of Comparative Education Societies ( WCCES) is an international organization of comparative education societies worldwide and is an NGO in Operational Relations with UNESCO. WCCES was created in 1970 to advance the field of comparative education. Gerald Read was one of the founders of WCIES. Archives of WCIES are housed at Kent State University.
