Fingerprinting Services

The IRC offers electronic fingerprinting and background check services for both federal (FBI) and state (BCI). You may fill out and print the fingerprinting form prior to coming to the IRC to save time.

No appointment necessary; however, fingerprinting services stop 30 minutes before the IRC closes.

We accept cash or check, however starter checks will not be accepted. We do not accept credit cards or Flashcards as a form of payment.  Please make checks payable to: IRC@KSU.

Departments may also authorize charges for fingerprinting using Interdeparmental Charges (IDC). Please contact the IRC to make arrangements.

  • Current government-issued identification (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
  • Payment (Cash or Check only)
  • Fingerprinting Form
  • Know your Social Security number
  • The address that you need the results sent.

The BCI&I will usually complete an Ohio and federal criminal background check within 48 hours; however, it could take up to 4-6 weeks before you, or the address you requested, receive your results in the mail. This is your only official copy of your results. The IRC does not have access to your results. You can obtain additional official copies for a fee from BCI&I by calling 877-224-0043.

Ink Fingerprinting

The IRC does not provide ink fingerprinting.

*Please note that in order to be fingerprinted you need to bring a current government issued photo ID, cash or check, and the address where you need the results sent. You also must know your social security number at the time of fingerprinting. The IRC does not know where your results should go, this is your responsibility and we are not liable if you have the results sent to the wrong location.
