Travel packages available for Kent State fans attending Bowl game

After winning a program record 11 games, the Kent State Golden Flashes football team will take on Arkansas State on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., in the Bowl game. This is the third bowl appearance for the Flashes; they attended the Refrigerator Bowl in 1954 and the Tangerine Bowl in 1972. The game kicks off at 9 p.m. and will air on ESPN.

A travel package is available for all interested alumni, fans and friends of Kent State. The package includes admission into the official pregame reception, hotel accommodations in the designated Kent State fan hotel, a game ticket in the official Kent State section, a welcome event, a bowl souvenir and more.

Mid-American Conference teams (Northern Illinois, Miami, Central Michigan) have won the Bowl in each of the past three seasons. A record seven MAC teams will be playing in bowl games, including Northern Illinois in the Discover Orange Bowl. Last year, the MAC went 4-1 in bowl games, winning the ESPN Bowl Challenge Cup.
