Kim is the Special Assistant to Dr. Brown, Vice President of Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, working at Kent State University since January 2008. As the Special Assistant in the division, Kim works with many campus-wide programs to support inclusive excellence at KSU including the University Diversity Action Council (UDAC), Diversity Advisory Board-including fundraising for scholarship events, the MLK Jr., Celebration Day, the New Hire Diversity Luncheon and several community programs.Kim has a passion to work with students and see them discover their creative, hidden leadership talents. She encourages the students to be proud of where they are from and take personal action in being inclusive with their surroundings and community. Her passion and commitment have led her to become the student organization advisor for the Native American Student Association (N.A.S.A.) and Co-Advisor of the Spanishand Latino Student Association (S.A. L.S.A.) since 2012.

Before working at Kent State, Kim spent more than twenty years in the health care field and is now working towards getting her bachelor's degree in Public Health.
