On March 15, 2024, medical students across the country gathered together to learn their fate – residency match following graduation. In Independence, Ohio at Kent State University’s own medical school, the College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM), fourth year podiatric medical students had their own match day celebrations as 100% of eligible students in the class of 2024 learned where they would soon be moving to live and

practice over the course of their four-year residency programs.

The post-graduate training that takes place in residency provides an orderly progression from student doctor to competent, independent clinician. Residents can elect a residency program in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with or without an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (PMSR and PMSR/RRA). In each pathway, residents are trained in the breadth of podiatric healthcare, with the additional credential providing a sufficient volume and diversity in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle procedures.

Check out where Kent State University’s new foot and ankle physicians and surgeons will be heading this summer!
