Columbus Program students are accompanied by Dr. Vernon Sykes, the program director.
Their first week in the program will be participating in the colloquium on the Kent campus. Included: speakers, team building sessions,etiquette lunch and a group photo. If you live more than an hour away, housing will be provided during the colloquium.
The second week, students will move into their housing complex and begin their internships. Students work as interns Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Monday and Tuesdays students attend briefings and take a State Government Course held in the Statehouse.
