Glyphix Students Help Design New York Times Illustration

Posted Apr. 12, 2010

The New York Times published a photo illustration for the article "Can New York be Saved?" in the Sunday Opinion section on March 28. The illustration was created by VCD alumnus Paul Sahre, an award-winning designer now living in New York City, and several Glyphix students.

The Kent State chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, invited Sahre to campus. He spoke to a crowd of 150 in the FirstEnergy Auditorium in Franklin Hall on March 25.

"When Paul got the call from the Times while in Kent he turned to several Glyphix students and asked if any of them wanted to do an illustration for the Times," said VCD Director AnnMarie LeBlanc.  "Needless to say it was a very excited group of students."

The printed version gave credits to Paul Sahre and Glyphix.
