KentWired Makes Its DebutPosted Feb. 13, 2010

Kent State’s online student run news source has been completely renovated to the new KentWired.com.
Formerly, KentNewsNet, KentWired is an all-encompassing site for student media and offers news, entertainment, sports, community and much more.
Susan Zake, the General Web Advisor for the student newsroom, says all feedback has been positive thus far.
Zake remarked that, “Students are still becoming familiar with it, but most students think it is a great improvement over KentNewsNet.”
The new design was purchased from a Web site, but is maintained totally by Kent State students.
Although the site’s hits are still lower than KentNewsNet, KentWired will surely catch up with its new captivating logo and marketing efforts.
Zake said discussion about the revamping of the site started about a year ago, but the actual transition began in October 2009. The transition went smoothly, partially due to the skill sets students acquired while working on the Web-based KentNewsNet.
The decision to switch to KentWired also came about because the students and Zake felt they were at a standstill in their opportunity to grow with the former content management system, College Publisher.
