SLIS Grad Assistant Applications Due March 1

Posted Feb. 20, 2012

The School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to full-time students (enrolled in eight graduate hours or more per semester for fall and spring and six graduate hours for summer) each year on a competitive basis. This includes M.L.I.S. students enrolled at Kent, Columbus and online (eDegree). A graduate assistantship provides full-time students with tuition remission and a stipend in exchange for 20 hours of work per week for 15 weeks.

The appointments are typically made for the academic year, beginning with fall semester, but may also be continued through the summer.

To apply, students must submit the Graduate Assistantship Application on or before March 1. Only students who have already been admitted to the M.L.I.S. program by March 1 are eligible. Current students may also apply.
