Photo-Illustration Program Earns Accreditation from National Association of Schools of Art and DesignPosted Jun. 11, 2013
VCD Director AnnMarie LeBlanc congratulated the faculty, specifically VCD Associate Professors Jaime Kennedy and Christopher Ransom “for building a curriculum and facilities we can all be very proud of.”
According to the organization’s website, “NASAD, founded in 1944, is an organization of schools, colleges and universities. It has approximately 322 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials.”
The Bachelor of Science in Photo-Illustration is a 127-hour degree program that is grounded in formal, technical and conceptual skill building and is focused on the profession of photography as it relates to commerce. The degree requires portfolio reviews at the sophomore and junior levels as well as for-credit internships.
