Acute care nurse practitioners provide advanced nursing and/or specialized medical care to adults with complex, acute illnesses in a variety of acute-care settings, including specialty clinics, emergency rooms and acute, sub-acute and intensive/critical care units in hospitals. Graduates of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate are eligible to site for the American Nurses Credentialing Center Acute Care Nurse Practitioner examination.
 

CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS (16 credits)
Prerequisite: Master of Science in Nursing. Graduate of Adult, Women's Health, Family or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program (Board Certified or Board Eligible). OBN approved pharmacology course completed.
