Ohio Arts Council Awards Funding to WickPosted Aug. 25, 2011
Wick outreach programming includes poetry workshops at northeast Ohio hospitals, palliative care/hospice settings, middle schools, senior centers, community centers, libraries, and veterans groups.
One component of the outreach program includes the Traveling Stanzas. This project features original poems displayed on artistic posters placed in area buses, schools, and hospitals. The poems are written by outreach participants, including health care providers, medical students, patients, and veterans. Under the direction of Valora Renicker, KSU Visual Communication Design students in the Glyphix design studio design the Traveling Stanzas posters.
The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations.
