Spencer is currently working as a Lab Manager in the GIS | Health & Hazards Lab at Kent State University. As a previous undergraduate in the Geography department and now a first year graduate student, he has built an interest in the ways in which community health is perceived, analysed, displayed and interpreted in a geographic context. His current research is focused on built environment equality and inequality, the perception of safety and the analysis and display of health data in a GIS, especially as they relate to extreme environments.
