Kent State University is committed to research and training in geospatial technologies, a high-growth industry identified by the United States Department of Labor. We have major expertise in Applied GIS with foci in hazards, health, sustainability, the built environment, and cyber-infrastructure. The Department of Geography provides all courses and programs in geospatial technology including a BA with a concentration in GIS, an MA with a concentration in GIS, and the specialized PhD.
Geographers collaborate with several disciplines which have included GIS in their curriculum and are using GIS in their research.
