The transition to college is a perfect time to learn healthy eating and exercise habits.
Approximately 70% of college students gain weight during their first year of college!
Many will continue to gain more weight over time. Many students develop bad habits during college, including not getting enough exercise, eating unhealthy food, and poor strategies for dealing with stress. Recent research shows that students that develop bad health habits are more likely to have trouble in their coursework and are even at higher risk for dropout.
We want to change this trend and expect that flashLITE will benefit students in many ways:
- Get comfortable with the Kent State campus and its classroom, residential, and exercise facilities
- Develop a group of friends who will be a supportive social network

- Become more confident in yourself and your abilities
