On Thursday 21 June, Kent State University will be the sponsor of a Crain's Cleveland Breakfast on the topic "Bridging Three Generations of Talent". The event will be held at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Cleveland, with breakfast and networking from 7:00-8:00am, and the panel from 8:00-9:30am.
Dr. Robert A. Walker, Professor of Computer Science and Director of Kent State University's new School of Digital Sciences, will be one of the panelists. Also on the panel are Alan Loos, Manager of Information Technology for FedEx International Clearance and Supply Chain, and Evan Ishida, Senior Manager of Performance and Learning Consulting for Eaton Corporation.
For the first time in history, U.S. businesses have three distinctly different generations working together - Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millennials. Is your business prepared to manage the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities of such a demographically diverse workforce?
Explore the unique characteristics of each generation and discuss tactics for maximizing the potential for each:
- Dispelling myths and stereotypes
- Identifying shared values and expectations
- Using technology to bridge generations
- Building HR strategies to promote inclusiveness and diversity
