ACT (American College Testing) Residual Test

The ACT-Residual is available to students seeking admission to Kent State and measures high school knowledge in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning.

Only students who are submitting an application for admission to Kent State may take the ACT Residual.  Test scores can ONLY be reported to a Kent State office such as Admissions, Regional Campus Admissions, or Pre-College Programs (for the Post Secondary Enrollment Program - PSEOP).

Students wishing to take the National ACT may locate a testing center at multiple U.S.and international locations..

The test fee is $60.00 payable by credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) upon registration. The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Candidates who cancel, no-show, or need to reschedule may do so within 90 days and pay a $30 reschedule fee. Tests rescheduled after 90 days of the original registration date must submit the full $60 registration fee.

Photo identification is required to take this paper & pencil test. Non-prohibited calculators are allowed during the Math section.

Test scores are based on the number of questions answered correctly during the time allowed for that test. You will NOT be penalized for guessing. It is to your advantage to answer every question even if you must guess.

The ACT Residual test is administered at the Kent campus in Career Services, 261 Schwartz Center or at the Stark Campus Testing and Tutoring Services.

Schedule online to take the ACT-Residual at the Kent campus.  Tests are administered monthly, except during November when testing materials are renewed.

A minimum wait of 60 days is required before retesting. If the 60-day wait period is violated, the retest scores will be canceled automatically and no refund will be made.
