National Conference on Conflict Resolution in EducationPosted May. 5, 2004
The Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management, the Interfaith Center for Peace, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Ohio Resource Network will sponsor the first-annual national conference, What Works! Innovations in Conflict Resolution Education: Early Childhood to Higher Education in Columbus, Ohio, May 5-8, 2004.
The conference will focus on conflict resolution innovations specifically for higher education, pre-K-12 schools, and high school students. This exciting event will bring together college and university faculty, educators, practitioners, high school students and community members from across Ohio and the U.S. to explore positive models for reducing and managing conflict with a goal to create safe and healthy learning environments. Participants are invited to attend two-day pre-conference intensive training sessions, May 5 and 6, followed by two days of keynote lectures from nationally recognized experts, intensive workshops on programs, and strategies and theories for building peaceful school and university communities, May 7 and 8.
RCHs, CEUs for teachers, counselors and social workers and graduate credit will be offered.
